Who are we?

On 30 April 2011, the day Queen Beatrix visited Weert and Thorn, Gerard and Els Kuijpers became the owners of a historic hotel that formerly was an abbey: Hotel de Abdij, situated in Horn (near Roermond). The idea to be able to mean something for people from early morning till late in the evening made de Abdij into the hospitable hotel it is today.

To create rest and space for recreation andto work in…
To have a drink…
To walk and cycle in the rich nature of Midden-Limburg…
And not te be forgotten: to enjoy!

This is where Gerard and Els believe in from day one.

About Hotel – Restaurant de Abdij

The hotel exudes the atmosphere of the former monastery and in that style has several single, double, triple and quadruple rooms and an outdoor terrace in the monastery garden.

Hotel – Restaurant de Abdij is not just a place to sleep. The hotel also has meeting facilities, a restaurant with regional dishes on the menu, a cozy bar and a green area to relax completely.

Gerard and Els regularly hear that it is pleasant that the hotel has its own free parking space (with electric charging point) and is easily accessible by bus via public transport. Which makes the location ideal for a business meeting. The city of Roermond is also a stone’s throw from the hotel.

At Hotel –Restaurant de Abdij we work with a hospitable team with only one goal: to provide you with a pleasant and relaxed stay.
